This position at The Court Theatre, Christchurch, is to be implemented at an exciting time when the company is further developing its already successful business model.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Communications and Education Manager is a pivotal role in the management team at The Court Theatre.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising the production and distribution of all promotional material for plays including programmes, fliers and posters.
  • Writing and distribution of media releases, liaising with the media (radio, print and TV), including the management of all artist interviews and the placement of print and radio advertisements.
  • Administering The Court's Education programme, including enrolments for The Court's on-site drama programmes, liaison with tutors and schools and the promotion and scheduling of the annual schools' tour.
  • Hosting tours of The Court.

Candidates need to have excellent communication skills – both external and internal, a flair for creative writing, the ability to work within challenging time-frames and be a team player. Above all, the successful candidate will need to thrive in a positive, upbeat, high-achieving environment. An arts background is not essential.
