IT'S 2012. IF THE MAYANS ARE RIGHT, THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE.

This is compelling, intelligent and thought-provoking comedy at its best. With, just maybe, a few dick jokes.

Jeremy Elwood returns to the Comedy Festival with his annual instalment looking back at the year that was, reliving the highs, reassessing the lows and laughing at how seriously we took it at the time.

The ground has shifted, both literally and figuratively, and now is the perfect time to reflect on what has happened and perhaps take a peek at what's coming around the corner. Is it all doom and gloom, or will things even out? Regardless, it's going to be laughed at.

Jeremy has been performing for more than a decade and has become one of the most sought after comics in the country with regular appearances on TV3's 7Days, the Panel on Radio New Zealand National and his blog Political Animal. His most recent shows, (un)common sense, Jeremy Elwood Thinks Too Much and Jeremy Elwood's 12 Steps have been critically acclaimed.

“It's well worth spending an hour with him” – theatreview.org.nz 2010

Jeremy's uniqueness comes from consistently presenting a solid new hour of stand up, which sets him apart from many other comics. This is a comic who doesn't rest on his laurels, he works at his craft and the results are audible each time he is on stage.

A return to The Basement Studio in Auckland and his first full season at Wellington's prestigious San Francisco Bathhouse will give Jeremy's loyal fan base and those who are just discovering him the perfect settings to enjoy his irreverent and probing style of comedy.

Seeing Jeremy's show is like buying your favourite bands latest album and an absolute must for any Comedy Festival.
