STAMP at THE EDGE present
Robert Hylton’s Urban Classicism

Classically trained Robert Hylton has developed a style he dubs Urban Classicism. Acknowledging the importance of street dance in our society Hylton mixes it up with improvisation, modern dance and the freestyle philosophy of the clubs. For this special event Hylton teams up with a prominent UK DJ for an evening that includes a selection of Dance Film, Hylton’s solo work Verse and the sounds of DJ Billy Biznizz.

We Are Gathered Here Today
Raewyn Hill

Raewyn Hill returns to the stage in 2006 with her new solo work: "We Are Gathered Here Today".

Renowned for her ability to communicate with the audience themes close to people’s hearts, Hill explores the subject of departure in both the physical and the psychological sense.

With the support of an outstanding creative team, an original music score (David Long), film produced by (Richard Bell) and dramaturg (Duncan Sarkies), this work promises to be powerful, honest, and uncompromising.

The all-male ‘KICK-START Dance Company’ from the University of Brighton, England join students from Auckland University of Technology (AUT) to present a program of contemporary dance.

Ballet Concierto
Tempo presents

International ballet star Iñaki Urlezaga and his company Ballet Concierto perform for one night only in Auckland!
The Argentine company presents two movements Pulsaciones and Destino Buenos Aires. The first movement, ‘Pulsaciones’ shows the electrifying and rigorous prowess of the company. ‘Destino Buenos Aires’ uses ballet and stylized tango to capture the mood and feeling of Buenos Aires, the city Iñaki Urlezaga always returns too.
Ballet Concierto is one of the highlight pieces of Tempo 06.
