FORTUNE THEATRE PRODUCTION & STAGE MANAGEMENT INTERNSHIP
The Fortune Theatre emphasises the importance of theatre as a collaborative art, and wishes to provide production opportunities that promote learning, career development and mutual respect in a supportive environment.
The Fortune Theatre’s production and stage management internship will offer the broad based hands-on experience necessary to produce a theatrical production.
The internship will come under the umbrella of the Production/Stage Management department, with the intern being given a title and expected to carry out the duties of Assistant Production & Stage Manager when not seconded to other departments (Set/ costume/ lighting).
Who can apply? Theatre Studies (production/ stage management/ technical theatre) students in their final year of studies or post graduate theatre students who wish to gain practical experience before pursuing a full-time career in theatre. The internship will also be available to those who have completed training and are seeking practical experience in a professional theatre environment.
Salary: The intern will receive a salary of $550.00 per week for a 12 month period with a starting date of January 2008. This salary will include a $100 per week as a living away from home allowance for those interns who are based outside Dunedin.
This is a Creative New Zealand funded internship for a 12 month period only.
The intern will be required to work a maximum of 40 hours per week and will also be required to work unsociable hours. (Weekends & Sunday matinee performances). Time off in lieu of over-hours is offered only.
