McLAUGHLIN OFF TO ATC

Auckland Theatre Company is pleased to announce that PAUL McLAUGHLIN has been selected as the 2008 Artistic Director intern.

This inaugural project, funded by Creative New Zealand, presents a unique opportunity for a mid-career theatre-maker to take part in a customized development programme at Auckland Theatre Company to explore, extend and develop their knowledge base to support the artistic and administrative running of a professional company.

"It’s a collective concern of the industry that there is a shortage of suitable skilled and/ or experienced practitioners who can step up into leadership roles with our major companies," said ATC’s Artistic Director Colin McColl. "The calibre of applicants was very high. But Paul demonstrated he has excellent management skills as well as artistic ambition. His Site Specific HOTEL project was one of the highlight of my theatrical year."

Paul will take up his internship at Auckland Theatre Company in April 2008.
