BATS THEATRE STRIKES BACK AT GLOBAL WARMING
The rising heat levels and increased humidity has met a cold slap in the face from BATS Theatre. BATS founder Simon Bennett highlighted the inexcusability of a theatre without air conditioning in 1989, and 19 years later- and some degrees warmer – BATS Theatre has finally caught up with their audience and become, quite literally, cool.
The hefty installation costs were covered by the generous spirit of the BATS Theatre community, particularly through the BATS 18th Birthday Secret Society Party of 2007.
Theatre practitioners and audience members alike have suffered the sweltering temperatures often reached during the warmer months and froze during the colder months without adequate heating within the small theatre at 1 Kent Terrace.
Celebrations galore are expected throughout the city, with plans in motion for a ‘Polar Party’ on Tuesday 1 April 2008 at BATS Theatre.
BATS Theatre would like to thank all who have helped out with donations and support, and invite them to enjoy future shows at BATS Theatre in comfort and style.
