STAB 2008 

2008 is the thirteenth year of the STAB Commission and Season at BATS Theatre.

Creative New Zealand funds BATS to commission 1 or 2 performance works every year which pioneer new examples of theatrical innovation. Here’s your opportunity to dream up a cutting edge performance experience. Pitch your vision to BATS, and potentially be commissioned to turn it into an astounding reality.

The deadline for expressions of interest is Friday 14 March.

THE STAB COMMISSIONING PROCESS 2008 

STAGE 1:      Expressions of Interest

Friday 14 March:  One-page form completed and returned to BATS.

STAGE 2:      Short List Selection

Tuesday 18 – Thursday 28 March: BATS holds informal interviews with all those who have submitted expressions of interest.

Wednesday 4 April: Final selection of a small number of groups to further develop their concept.

Thursday 8 – Friday 9 May : These groups present their concept and a detailed proposal containing budgets, personnel and marketing plans as well as creative content.

STAGE 3:      Commissioning

Tuesday 13 May: Two or more groups are commissioned to produce their STAB project.

STAGE 4:      Presentation

13 October – 22 November 2008: STAB shows presented/staged.

STAGE 5:      Reporting

December 2008: Project reports and budgets to be submitted to Creative New Zealand detailing project strengths and challenges.
