April 2, 2009
JUST FOR THE APRIL 1 RECORD:
In 2007 Theatreview announced:
TAX EXEMPTIONS FOR ARTISTS AND THEIR CREATIVE OUTPUTS WHEN EXHIBITED, PUBLISHED OR OTHERWISE PRODUCED IN PUBLIC ARENAS
which spawned a vigorous Forum.
In 2008 Theatreview announced:
BREAKING NEWS: SAM NEILL TO HEAD DOWNSTAGE
which sparked off this Forum. (The spoil-sport posts were disabled until noon then reinstated.)
This year, in honour of the Compleate Workes project, Theatreview went with:
LABOURS WONNE? – YOUR HELP NEEDED
and this was the Forum.
Also for the record, the director of a Shakespeare Festival in the USA did email the following message:
Hello John. Interesting stuff. You’re probably not aware that I have great skepticism that the man from Stratford actually wrote the plays so this could be a particularly interesting piece of evidence, if anyone actually is willing to risk breaking the bottle! I would strongly suggest taking it to the museum – the people there would certainly be able to offer suggestions about how to get the script out.
Are you sure it’s not a hoax?
I’ll be interested to see any developments.
Thanks for sending it to me.
Best regards, [etc]
