The British Council NZ presents a Theatre Workshop Intensive
with Nuffield Theatre UK & Massive Company NZ
The invitation to attend the Workshop Intensive is open to drama and performing arts students 15-25 years.
The Nuffield Theatre Company produces award-winning work for adults and children. They tour extensively in the UK and internationally. Their repertoire is wide and includes new writing and classics from Britain and abroad. Clarity and accessibility are all important in acting, direction and design that tends to be striking and simple rather than lavish. Nuffield’s workshops explore and develop storytelling through physical and visual theatre through the role of the performer’s body and voice.
Massive Company is an ensemble based theatre company, working with young people (aged 15-25), emerging artists and professional practitioners to create contemporary New Zealand theatre. They create devised productions with young casts, and commission leading writers to create work with their professional company. Their work has toured both in NZ and internationally, with recent work being seen in the UK – The Sons Of Charlie Paora visited the Royal Court in London, and Up Close Out Loud was part of the Contacting the World Festival at the Contact in Manchester.
The workshops are high-energy, and explore ideas of company work, and using personal experiences and stories to create theatre.
