ATAMIRA DANCE COLLECTIVE IS SEEKING A GENERAL MANAGER  

Are you passionate about New Zealand Contemporary Dance and have a background in Arts Production and Management?

Atamira Dance Collective Charitable Trust is seeking a General Manager for the Māori contemporary dance company, Atamira Dance Collective.

As New Zealand’s leading Māori Contemporary Dance Company, Atamira performs and tours work by Māori choreographers nationally and internationally. Atamira also supports professional Māori dancers and choreographers through choreographic development, school and community workshops, corporate and other one-off events.

As General Manager you will be expected to be based in Auckland, report to the Trust Board, and work closely with the core members of Atamira Dance Collective. You will have one part-time administrative assistant, and also work with subcontractors including Production Designers, Choreographers, Composers and Dancers.

The General Manager will be responsible for the strategic, operational and financial management of Atamira Dance Collective.
 
Key Attributes sought include:

• Experience in a leadership role
• Ability to network with related organisations and to build new partnerships
• Knowledge and skill in financial management and planning
• Experience in negotiation and problem solving
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of the NZ Performing Arts and related industries
• Interest in Contemporary Dance
• Awareness of protocols pertaining to Māori culture and language
