Q THEATRE JOB VACANCY: Fundraising & Friendraising Co-ordinator (Full time)

Join Q Theatre in its start up phase, and support the development of a flexi-form performing arts venue of international standard in the heart of Auckland City. Q Theatre aims to connect with audiences, contribute to, and support the long-term sustainability of the performing arts, while providing memorable experiences for all.

We are looking for a fulltime Fundraising & Friendraising Co-ordinator with at least 18 months experience to join a small team.

You will support the Fundraising Manager in implementing donor acquisition, as well as developing and retaining donor strategies. Another important aspect of the role is to implement friendraising and audience building strategies to help ensure a high population of the theatre after opening.

Previous experience with database management (in particular Fundraiser Pro) is highly desirable, and you will be required to complete all receipting/administrative/accountability processes for donations and grants.

In addition to the Fundraiser Pro. programme, Microsoft Office Suite needs to be familiar to you, and you require the ability to learn other programmes when necessary. The person assuming this role needs to be able to communicate with a wide range of people and be skilful at writing funding applications.

You will be extremely efficient and organised, pro-active, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Being comfortable completing lighter work alongside the more demanding is important, and the ability to build and maintain strong personal relationships will add absolute value in this role.

There will be several events to assist co-ordinate during the build-up to opening of Q Theatre. Aptitude in activities related to a capital campaign will also be a priority as you support the Fundraising Manager in the creation of an arts development fund.

Marketing skills and communications experience will be useful in assisting Q to become familiar with Auckland’s public, but above all an engaging personality is key.

We are seeking someone with a fantastic, approachable, down to earth, personable attitude to join our team. With this personality you will be able to easily develop positive relationships with both staff, donors and Friends of Q – thus playing a vital role in this Auckland performing arts project.
