What do to the dancers of the Royal New Zealand Ballet do to prepare for a new production? How old are the dancers? How many hours do they dance each day?
The Royal New Zealand Ballet’s A Day in the Life event is a chance to find out the answers to everything you want to know about what it’s like to be a dancer in New Zealand’s national ballet company.
An event for the whole family, we invite you to take a peek behind the scenes with us at this free event to be held at Te Marae at Te Papa on Sunday 18 July.
The day offers a chance to not only ask questions but also:
- Watch dancers taking a class and gain a rare insight into their daily training schedule-
- Listen to former dancer and current Ballet Mistress, Turid Revfeim, give an insight into the Royal New Zealand Ballet
ATTENTION KIDS:
Between 1.30pm – 2pm you’ll be able to participate in a fun-filled workshop taken by one of our Dance Explorer educators. Learn some basic steps from our favourite ballets and how to act like our favourite characters.
