DOWNSTAGE Theatre: Front of House Manager
Downstage is the home of contemporary performance and music in Wellington. Our small and dynamic team is looking for an energetic, highly motivated and professional multi-tasker to manage our Front of House.
The Front of House manager fulfills a vital role for Downstage by providing a superior level of customer service to a wide range of stakeholders across a variety of performances and functions.
You will be responsible for providing a seamless, enjoyable, exceptional and safe experience for our audiences and guests at all times while in Downstage. You’ll be responsible for a team of casual staff (including bar assistants, ushers, evening host/greet staff) and for initiatives that maintain and develop the quality of that experience.
You will need to be fully appraised of the history and particular quirks and delights of the venue itself, and to enjoy and be effective at working with our partners at all times.
You will need to have a current Duty Manager’s licence, Fire Safety certificate, and First Aid certificate.
To be successful in this role, you will be innovative, have excellent communication skills at all levels, be able to build and manage a budget effectively, be highly organised and a team player with excellent leadership skills, have demonstrated high performance in hospitality, and have an understanding and enjoyment of live performance.
