CHRIS DOIG DIES AFTER CANCER BATTLE

Prominent New Zealander Chris Doig has died after a two year battle with cancer.

The 63-year-old former international opera singer had been battling bowel cancer but was well enough to attend a fundraising concert by Placido Domingo in Christchurch last week.

The concert was to raise funds for the quake-affected Court Theatre and Christchurch Symphony Orchestra. [More]
