ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Dance Wellington is set for June 2012 offering a new format in a found venue with three theatre spaces and two galleries to be developed into Dance HQ.
Dance Wellington 2012 will present a variety of dance performances from hip hop, cultural, classical, historical, contemporary, site-specific, an international YouTube dance competition, installation, and exhibition to be presented at multi-venue space Dance HQ.
This festival is a pilot festival before the full festival in 2013. We will be working with an audience development programme that includes ‘pay what you like or what you think the work is worth’ allowing audiences to take risks to see new dance forms and works.
It is planned that related seasons will also take place at BATS Theatre. Please contact martyn@bats.co.nz for the application process for this theatre. If you prefer the traditional box office and black box, this may be a better option for your presentation in the festival.
For information about the Dance HQ venue and spaces that you can apply to, email Josephine: dancewellingtonfestival@gmail.com .
