ENTER THE BANANA: a playwrights’ development programme
Fakaalofa lahi atu

The inaugural Banana Boat Retreat is done and dusted, and we are buzzing with enthusiasm with our next thingie!
We’re proud to announce Enter the Banana – a development stream offering structured support and active development to two hungry playwrights. (Enter the Banana is a working title which is much better than David’s suggested title of Second Banana. Ah, that David – such a coconut-half-empty kinda guy. If you can think of a better title, please share it with us.)
What’s the development stream mean? Two playwrights have the opportunity and services of a dramaturg, two workshop readings and a final public reading over a twelve month period.
What do you have to do? Submit. That’s right, you only need to submit a complete draft of a play that you’re working on, a page about yourself and the play, and complete an application form.
When’s the deadline? Friday, 2 March 2012 at 5:00pm.
How’s it work? You submit, a panel of independent assessors read, discuss and rate your scripts, and the two playwrights are announced!
How much does it cost? It costs you absolutely nothing! But readings, assessors and dramaturgs aren’t free – specific terms and conditions will apply to the successful playwrights.
