Communications and Marketing Team Leader – Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School  

Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School is New Zealand’s leading specialist tertiary education provider for the performing arts.  

We are looking for an experienced marketing and communications practitioner who has proven experience at coordinating and leading teams.  

Marketing Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School has two main strands: event promotion (20%) and student recruitment (80%). This is a new role developed in response to a process of change within the School to a more collaborative method of working.

The team leader is responsible for the following outcomes:

• Student recruitment, national and international
• Marketing and promotion
• Communications, internal and external
• Web and social media management

He/she will also lead a marketing team made up of staff and student colleagues. The team’s role will be to assist with social media management, web maintenance, internal liaison, outreach events and box office.

Required attributes:

• At least three years’ relevant experience in marketing and communications
• Proven experience in coordinating and leading teams
• Proven ability to work under pressure and to multiple deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Desktop publishing and website editing skills
• An interest in education and the performing arts
• An understanding of and commitment to the School’s philosophy
