AUCKLAND FRINGE SET TO RETURN IN 2013
Following a record-breaking sophomore outing in 2011, Auckland Fringe will hit the city once again from 15 February to 10 March 2013.
An open access arts festival where anything can happen, Auckland Fringe was born in 2009 and by 2011 had 1296 people involved in 99 shows and an audience of 51,888, an increase of 30% on the first year.
“The magic of Fringe Festivals is that anyone can have an idea, register a show and make it happen. There’s no curator, no set genres and shows can happen anywhere within the boundaries of Auckland – we’ve had shows in a paddock in Pakiri, a central city elevator and 2011’s sell-out synchronized swimming show, Wet Hot Beauties, at Parnell Baths.” Sally Barnett, Co Director.
It’s time for artists and venues to start planning for 2013. There’s a two month window where artists can register, from 1 August to 28 September 2012, ensuring inclusion in the official Auckland Fringe programme.

Auckland Fringe is delighted to announce Special Group as our new design partner, who will be working closely with the Fringe team to create the brand look and feel for Auckland Fringe 2013.

Auckland Fringe is presented by THE EDGE alongside key funders ASB Community Trust, Auckland Arts Festival and the K Road Business Association who continue their support for Auckland Fringe into 2013.
