CHILDREN OF THE MIST Retrospective  

MISS LEIGH BREWER, well-known Wellington ballet teacher and choreographer, who found her inspiration in the advice of Dame Margot Fonteyn, her story in Maori legend and her encouragement in the enthusiasm with which each colleague she called on rose to the challenge of creating an all-New Zealand ballet.

The Wellington City Ballet Company was formed especially to produce the first original New Zealand Two Act Ballet titled “Children of the Mist” [based on Elsdon Best’s enthralling mystery legend of the same title].
