WORLD-RENOWNED MASTER PERCUSSIONIST and TaKeTiNa founder, REINHARD FLATISCHLER, BRINGS RHYTHM TO AUCKLAND
For the first time, in October, internationally-acclaimed master percussionist and founder of the TaKeTiNa rhythm process, Reinhard Flatischler will visit Auckland giving New Zealanders the chance to embrace rhythm with him and partake in a unique TaKeTiNa workshop.
TaKeTiNa is a profoundly new way to experience and understand rhythm, which countless people are adopting worldwide. Requiring no previous musical experience, it allows a deep musical quality to be unleashed within each of us, bringing with it health benefits, deep relaxation, presence and inner silence.
Flatischler, founder and rhythm meister, developed TaKeTiNa as a holistic learning process through which music, movement, communication, neurological research and chaos theory are intertwined to create a path for learning and personal transformation.
“TaKeTiNa is a process capable of activating the human and musical potential. Learning rhythm and music with the TaKeTiNa always means learning for life too,” explains Flatischler.
“TaKeTiNa conveys rhythm in a way that allows people to naturally grasp and learn it – becoming a deeply relaxing and meditative process.”
This rare opportunity offers participants the chance to experience TaKeTiNa in its purest form, from its founder. Over three days Flatischler will share his knowledge and passion, leading the group deeper into the process and allowing the rhythm to lead the way.
“The way we move through the process gives us information about ourselves as rhythm becomes a mirror,” he explains.
Flatischler will be supported by Justine Bristow – founder of New World Rhythm and one of only seven fully-trained TaKeTNa facilitators in Australasia. Justine, a senior trained TaKeTiNa teacher, has been training under the auspices of Flatischler for the past 14 years and has supported him as a Senior Assistant both in classical music settings and open workshops.
“With benefits to us all, musicians or not, TaKeTiNa workshops enable us work with and embody our natural sense of primal rhythmic movement, that in today’s world invariably lie dormant and untapped.”
As Justine adds, “TaKeTiNa helps us embrace the unknown and chaotic and teaches you to just ‘let go’ and become present in the rhythm of life.”
