AUDIO DRAMA WORKSHOPS – WELLINGTON AND AUCKLAND
Radio New Zealand and Playmarket are pleased to offer the opportunity for playwrights to take part in Writing Audio Drama workshops in Wellington (11 – 12 October) and Auckland (18 – 19 October).
The workshops will be run by Adam Macaulay, Executive Producer of Drama at RNZ. Adam is a trained theatre director who has worked in Australia as a script editor, assessor, dramaturg and workshop director for the Australian National Playwrights centre.
These workshops are a chance for you to hear the inside story on how you can get your writing onto the radio – and to an estimated audience of 60,000. Try remembering the last time your play drew a theatre audience like that! You’ll also learn how audio storytelling really works, what’s possible (and impossible) in that medium and how to submit a script for commissioning. You’ll even have fun doing lots of practical stuff and listening to radio plays.
The Friday session will be three hours in the evening (6-9pm) and the Saturday session will be from 9.30am – 4pm.
Contact Stuart Hoar (scripts[@]playmarket.org.nz) if you wish to take part. The cost is $30 per person.
Please let Stuart know by Wednesday 18 September 2013, as a minimum of eight participants is required for each workshop.
