FAMILY STATEMENT REGARDING THE DEATH OF EWEN GILMOUR
“Ewen was a much loved and cherished member of our family, he was a larger than life character and by his very nature was kind, generous and always giving of his time to those who asked for his help.
“In addition to his comedy, he involved himself in a wide spectrum of events and activities, ranging from charitable initiatives through to involvement in local politics.
“He brought smiles and laughter wherever he went and to everyone he met, and as his family we will remember those happy memories forever.
“He was at such a great stage in his life – he had so much to live for and everything was going so well for him.
“The one comforting thought is that he is now at rest with his beloved late wife, Cathy.”

From Kate Ward-Smythe
Ewen was a friend and a comedian who I will always respect — not only for his wit and craft, but for his big heart and supportive nature.
Recently, at one day’s notice, Ewen stepped in as a debater for a fundraiser I was managing with the For Everyone Charitable Foundation, when one of our comedians had to pull out. He didn’t hesitate when he made the decision to help us out, dropping everything to whip up a very funny routine, don a fancy suit, and entertain us all on the night. That’s the sort of bloke is was.
He will be hugely missed by everyone — family, friends — and everyone who had the pleasure to meet or work with him.
RIP lovely Ewen.
