Q THEATRE’S MATCHBOX APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR 2017 SEASON
MATCHBOX
Q Theatre’s creative development programme
Applications for the 2017 MATCHBOX creative development programme are open now! Artists and companies are invited to express their interest in joining the 2017 line-up, and see their ideas come to life!
MATCHBOX gives kiwi performing artists the opportunity to work alongside Q Theatre to produce exciting and innovative seasons of live shows for the Q Theatre Loft space. MATCHBOX aims to assist companies in growing their work, nurturing new professional relationships and building their rapport with audiences.
The selected companies are assisted through a multi-faceted approach which offers a venue, rehearsal space, backstage crew and technical equipment – sharing the financial risk and reward of the season. Q Theatre also help with professional development by offering advice, tailored support and funds towards the marketing and publicity of the season.
The three step selection process sees Q Theatre and industry representatives reviewing a diverse range of submissions looking for companies that are ready to catapult their ideas onto the stage. MATCHBOX aims to invest in the future of Auckland’s performing arts industry whilst curating a rich and varied line-up for audiences.
The first of three productions in the 2016 MATCHBOX Season opens from 21st -25th June with theatrical dance piece Everything Anyone Ever Wanted.
