SHORT+SWEET WELLINGTON IS ON FOR 2016!  

The annual big-little Festival of 10-minute performances is now taking submissions for its 2nd season in Wellington.  

After a successful debut, Short+Sweet is returning to Wellington for its second season in 2016. Once again, we’ll be teaming up with BATS Theatre for a week-long season of 10-minute Theatre performances from19 – 22 October.  

Short+Sweet acts as a platform for emerging and established creatives to develop and perform new and original work in a professional arts environment. The Festival brings together a melting pot of professional, emerging and recreational artists in one place and this year the Festival is looking forward to uncovering Wellington’s creative gems across short-format theatre, musical theatre and cabaret.

As part of our mission to support new and developing creatives the Festival provides a risk free environment to test and present works never before performed in Wellington with the following:

• Venue
• Technical crew
• Production meetings and pack in slot
• Audition opportunities
• Support from Artistic Curators and Festival team
• Industry experts and audiences to view your work and provide feedback
• Marketing the Festival to the city through web, social media and print
• Ticketing through TAPAC’s Patronbase

We want to hear from you – if you have a story, idea or work in development that you are eager to bring to the stage, let us know!

Short+Sweet Wellington is accepting submissions for scripts, directors, and independent theatre/musical theatre companies to help us take over Wellington 10-minutes at a time.

For your work to be considered for Short+Sweet Festival Auckland 2016, please first make sure that your piece:

• Has never been staged in Wellington before
• Does not exceed 10 minutes in total length
• Tells a concise and developed story within 10 minutes
