THEATREVIEW SEEKS MORE VOLUNTARY MANAGERS 

Theatreview is seeking volunteer Schedule and Production Page Managers, for:

DANCE – nationwide, and 

THEATRE – Auckland region [could be a venue-based job-share, for example, someone may handle all the Basement Theatre shows while someone else does the rest]. 

Now that our funding has run out, and while we continue to explore alternative funding models, Theatreview needs to spread the management workload on an unpaid volunteer basis. (Reviewers, including those who have been paid to manage and edit, have always been volunteers.)

Having built a highly valued resource of freely searchable reviews (9,873 and counting) over the past 11 years, we feel it is crucial to maintain the archival record until a longer-term funding solution is achieved. We are hugely grateful to Raewyn Whyte for ensuring Auckland remains represented during the Auckland Arts, Pride, Aroha ’17 and Fringe Festivals, and she cannot continue unpaid beyond March. 

A Schedule and Production Page Manager:

• Creates and maintains a reviewer schedule for the given region or sector (shell document supplied)
• Responds to requests for reviews
  (as per: https://www.theatreview.org.nz/review_req.php )
• Sends the requests out to the reviewing team
• Uses the information supplied by producer/publicist/creative director to establish a production page (instructions and admin login provided)
• Commissions the reviewer and books them in, asking for the review to be sent to the appropriate editor (Theatre: john@theatreview.org.nz | Dance: TBA).
