Red Leap INCUBATOR 2017 Applications are now open
INCUBATOR is a one week workshop for physical theatre artists to unlock the potential of new work ideas. This unique opportunity is open to both established and emerging practitioners.
INCUBATOR is led by Red Leap’s Artistic Director Julie Nolan, using her wealth of experience and knowledge in devising and creating physical theatre. Renowned choreographer Malia Johnston has been invited to join the process. Each artist will bring the seed of an idea to be developed then working as a group will collaboratively explore and develop each idea. A maximum of 20 participants will be accepted, ensuring each individual gets the best possible development of their idea.
Now in its INCUBATOR enables participants to get to know one another while exchanging skills and perspectives and has resulted in participants working on each others’ final productions. It also gives Red Leap the opportunity to engage constructively with the theatre making community while nurturing and supporting the development of physical theatre practitioners and new ideas.
Applicants need to submit:
- one page resume
- one paragraph about your idea (can be words, poem, pictures, anything)
Dates
- 6 October – All applications must be in by midnight.
- 13 October – Notification to all applicants.
- 6 – 10 November – INCUBATOR Workshop, Corban Estate Arts Centre, Henderson, West Auckland
Cost – $120 per person. 2 scholarships available (no cost to participate), please send one paragraph explaining why you would like a scholarship.
