Peter Hawes R.I.P.

With great sadness we convey this message from Centrepoint Theatre:

“All of us here at Centrepoint are extremely saddened at the loss of our dear friend and colleague Peter Hawes. Our hearts are with Lizzie, Barnaby and their family during this time.

Peter’s farewell will be held here at the theatre, 2:00pm this Saturday, November 3rd.”

Very sad to hear this news. I knew Peter Hawes only briefly in Wellington some three decades back, having been a childhood fan of his delightful telly prog Yours for the Asking. He was eminently approachable and an all round inspiration, not to mention hilarious. My thoughts are with all who were close to him.
