Witness a fantastical adventure filled with love, death, money, cats, hammers and friendship as you follow the journey of our heroes!

The raven soars above a massive city, spying with its keen eyes thick and dense forests, frozen wastelands, dark and dangerous caverns and bustling, ever expanding regions, the raven spies on the city known as Tredora.
It is in Tredora where our show will take place, following three brave heroes in the fight against evil as they attempt to take down a ferocious creature that’s taken the princess. Can our band of heroes, Graham the Half-Orc Barbarian, Luna, the High Eleven Bard and Agatha the Human Rogue succeed in their task and let destiny take control as they fight to free the princess of treacherous evil? Roll Initiative!
This new style of theatre is a mixture of immersive and improvised theatre, along with the wonderful game of Dungeons & Dragons, combining references, lore and story of the multiverse of Dungeons & Dragons with the beloved theatre we know.
We aim to breathe new life into your favourite game, your favourite form of media or both! Whether you are new to Dungeons & Dragons or new to theatre this show will be the perfect introduction into both worlds. For those that like their classical theatre, story, stakes and humour will still be offered up in this show, and for those new to theatre, come and experience a form of media unlike no other, one where your decisions matter.

A fun and frolicking fifty minutes

You Meet in a Tavern: A D&D Adventure, from newly formed theatre company Tiny Dinosaur, combines the best of the Dungeons and Dragons and improv comedy. Harri Hashim, as the Dungeon Master, provides enough narration to keep the action moving but does not impose upon the overall narrative.
The players embody tropes of the fantasy genre with a twist: Rose Lewis as Luna, the lusty wood elf with a penchant for princesses, Stuart Gordon as Graham the loveable oaf of an orc who is surprisingly level-headed throughout the quest, and Lilly O’Donnell as Agatha, a human rogue who makes fighting with disposable wooden cutlery look cool. You certainly don’t need to have played D&D to have a great time at this show.
The show makes use of the DIY ethos of D&D and cosplay: O’Donnell handmade all costumes and Gordon created the model for the show. Everyday items such as pool noodles and silly string become fearsome arachnid accoutrements. Weta Workshop it is not, but that is what gives You Meet in a Tavern its charm; the show is a labour of love and a place to let creative minds free to wander.
Improv and audience participation are seamlessly woven into the existing narrative structure. You can tell the performers enjoy each other’s company and humour. There are several moments where Lewis and O’Donnell cover their faces (in character) to prevent from breaking after Gordon’s Graham delivers an earnestly dumb one-liner. The actors are playful and joyful, showing improv comedy at its best.
Tiny Dinosaur’s debut is a fun and frolicking fifty minutes. Keep your monster manual handy- you never know what their ragtag bunch of budding theatre professionals will come up with next.
