PRODUCTION MANAGER WANTED
Dunedin Fringe Festival
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic production manger to coordinate Festival events and venues for the 2009 Dunedin Fringe Festival. The Festival runs from 26 March-5 April next year and is a major regional event that features national and international artists performing in all art forms. The focus is on innovative and experimental work by both emerging and established artists.
Essential Skills: Theatre production experience, good communication skills and time management, drivers licence.
The production manager will:
- Have experience working in a theatre and handling lighting equipment.
- Coordinate the pack-in and pack-out of lighting, sound and stage equipment into Festival venues
- Liaise with artists, suppliers and venue owners to ensure the smooth running of Festival venues
- Coordinate and manage a team of volunteers to operate Fringe-run venues and Festival events, including box office and ushers
- Provide training to volunteers in production roles
- Create and implement a safety plan for all Fringe-run events and ensure safety plans are in place for Festival-run venues
- Recruit, train and manage venue coordinators and technicians for Fringe-run venues
- Book venues and equipment for Fringe-run events
- Work closely with the Director and Festival Coordinator on all Fringe produced events and venues
Hours: 10-30 hours per week
Start: December 2008
Finish: April 2009
