THE DIRECTOR’S PREPARATION 
A Workshop for Theatre Directors 

This workshop will focus on a systematic and thorough approach to preparation for rehearsals and the development of the rehearsal process. The workshop will cover text analysis, casting, auditions, scheduling, and working with actors.

Workshop leader: Murray Lynch
Murray has worked at nearly every professional theatre in New Zealand since 1973 and has over 120 directing credits. Positions he has held include Artistic Director Centrepoint Theatre; Associate Director Theatre Corporate; Artistic Director Maidment Arts Centre; Head of Acting Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School and Director of Downstage Theatre 2000-2005. He was a founder of the Masters in Directing programme jointly taught by Toi Whakaari and Victoria University. Murray attained a Master of Arts from Victoria University in 2007.

Dates: Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 March
