THE HUB AT TOI PONEKE OPPORTUNITY

Message from Briar Munro at the Wellington City Council:

I’m looking for a young unemployed person [must be on UB] to employ through a WINZ Community Max scheme at the Toi Poneke Hub from February.

This lovely person would be based in the Hub once it is open, looking after people that come to the Hub and developing Hub projects. If you want to know more about the Hub you can go to our work-in-progress blog on TBI http://www.thebigidea.co.nz/show/work-in-progress/60106-hub-toi-poneke

This would be a great opportunity for someone wanting to build a career in the arts. They would be managed/supervised/mentored by me, Martin Rodgers and Kirsten Kelly. We would tailor their work to support their development. This would be a perfect opportunity for them to be supported, to build their networks, to really firm up their future. They would receive minimum wage and would have to commit for 6 months. They would need to be a confident young person, someone who was comfortable chatting to a wide variety of people. Someone who could take initiative.

Do you know of the perfect person? Can you flick me their details or ask them to contact me if you do? Ideally I’d like them to come on-board from 1 February. Any leads appreciated. Once I’ve found the right person they would still need to be approved by WINZ as this is a very targeted scheme. Email briar.munro@wcc.govt.nz for more!
