Sowing Incantations
11 May – 25 June
“We want to ignite the ancient, shamanistic and communal mind of theatre that speaks in the tongues of the soul …”
Sowing incantations is a 7-week theatre workshop focussing on choreographic theatre, group singing and soundscape work. It is open to invited practitioners and applicants seeking to investigate experimental choral ensemble. Directed by Jessica and Rhys Latton, it will take place twice weekly from 11th May – 25th June 2010.
This is the beginning of a journey. We do not know the final destination.
Past workshop participants have included: circus performers, actors, dancers, an ex-opera singer, musicians, and a puppet master.
“… it is the primordial language of rhythm, dance, image, human voice through which story emerges …”
We are looking for courageous and committed performers with strong physical and vocal ability and group sensitivity. Performers must commit to at least 3/4 of the training sessions.
Participation is by application. Please contact Rhys Latton – akeake@actrix.co.nz | – with an expression of interest and CV.
