The Wellington Producers Room presents InterMISSION
The Wellington Producer’s Room are resuming their successful discussion series that was piloted last year, and present to you InterMISSION.
InterMISSION is a series of FREE facilitated forums between emerging and established theatre practitioners, where we meet and address questions of critical importance for the success of our artform in New Zealand, for ourselves as practitioners within the theatre sector, and to ensure the delivery of quality art experiences to our audiences.
The first forum is scheduled for Monday 11 April from 6pm in the Hub at Toi Poneke and is entitled "Building and finding purpose in contemporary practice and performance"
Jo Randerson (Barbarian Productions) and creative producer Briar Monro will discuss the purpose of their work with Leo Gene Peters (a slightly isolated dog) and those attending. This will evolve into an informal discussion around the question of purpose. We will look at specific projects from the artists involved (and in attendance) and invite them to speak to the purpose of those projects, specifically the successful and less-successful elements in achieving that purpose.
The discussion will encourage values of honesty, concrete specificity, generosity and curiosity, so that those involved can interrogate their own work with the group present. And through this process, consequently, build a space where we come together communally to interrogate and evolve our work. These forums are supported by Creative Communities funding through Creative NZ and Wellington City Council.
We invite all theatre artists to join us for these conversations.
The Wellington Producers Room is Leo Gene Peters, Eleanor Bishop, Robin Kerr & Josephine O’Sullivan.
