BODY FESTIVAL 2011 – CALL FOR INDEPENDENT WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS

Despite the rocking-and-rolling that’s been going on, The Body Festival – Christchurch’s annual festival of dance and physical theatre is all set to take place again this year.

The festival will take place from the 23rd September – 16th October, bringing the opportunity for the Christchurch community to not only see top local, national and international dance performances, but to step onto the dance-floor themselves through dance workshops and events held all over the city.

HELP!

The February earthquake caused some major set-backs in the planning of this year’s festival, the Body Festival office partially collapsed and has meant that ALL records, email correspondence and contact lists from prior to the earthquake have been lost. In light of this we are seeking to contact individuals or dance groups for our "Independent" Workshops and Events.

If you had contacted us, (or had been contacted by us) about running a workshop during Body Festival, whether it was only initial contact, or we had confirmed all details – please get in contact with us ASAP (by Monday 23rd May) to ensure we still have your details to include you in the programme. Please don’t assume we do!

WANT TO RUN A WORKSHOP / EVENT BUT DON’T HAVE A VENUE?

We have the use of the NASDA Studios for the weekends of the Body Festival and plenty of time-slots are still available, so don’t let venue be the issue – contact Daz to book in your workshop / event.

Also, there is plenty of space left in the programme, so if you are running, or would like to run a dance event or workshop between the 24th September and 16th of October and would like it listed in the 2011 Body Festival programme (print and web) and promoted as part of the festival, please contact Daz Martin, Project Coordinator by Monday 23rd May on:
