Books in Homes are looking for 6 Actors

(2 teams of 3) for the 2012 National Tour of the Duffy Theatre Company.

*Rehearsals November 28^th– December 9^th and 30^th January – 10^th February in Wellington

*Tour begins mid- February 2012 for approx 8 months

*Good money and per diems (when away from home) Accommodation and transport covered.

DUFFY THEATRE INFO

Duffy Theatre is part of the company “Duffy Books in Homes”.

Each year we employ 6 actors who tour around NZ in two teams of three performing to over 95,000 children in low decile primary schools.

The shows are interactive adventures that promote a love of reading and aim to encourage children to read at home with their whanau.

The plays are written by Cathryn Monro and directed by Kerryn Palmer.

Rehearsals are November 28^th– December 9^th and 30^th January – 10^th February in Wellington.

Tour begins mid- February 2012 for approx 8 months

Payment is approx $130/day plus $40 per diems when away from home.

We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic actors who can:

– Physically and mentally withstand a demanding tour

– Interact positively with children and be excellent ambassadors for Duffy Books in Homes

– Play a variety of roles

– Drive

– Play well with others!

(NB 2 of the 6 actors need to be Maori/Pacific Island males)
