FORTUNE THEATRE SEEKS GENERAL MANAGER 

The Fortune Theatre, Otago and Southland’s only professional theatre is at an exciting stage of its development.  The Fortune’s vision is to enrich, inspire and transform our community through the magic of live theatre.  To help us deliver that vision we need a forward-thinking, experienced and hard-working General Manager. 

The General Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership for the organisation, ensuring financial stability and creating an environment in which the company’s artistic remit can flourish. 

The General Manager will report directly to the board, will work closely with the Artistic Director and will be accountable for the financial and operational success of the organisation.  The overall management of the Fortune Theatre will be the joint responsibility of the Artistic Director and the General Manager under the authority of the Fortune Theatre Trust Board. 

If you believe you are the person to fill this role you will have:  

  • Strong financial management skills
  • Strong people management skills
  • Experience of working or collaborating with creative people
  • Proven leadership skills
  • The ability to advocate strongly in the community
