Barking Gecko Theatre Company is a professional Western Australian theatre company specialising in productions for children, teens and families that tour nationally and internationally. Barking Gecko is known for developing and presenting ambitious, surprising and critically acclaimed productions for audiences from rural towns through to the Sydney Opera House.

Whatever the scale of a Barking Gecko production, resources are committed to ensure artists rigorously develop their ideas, and that Australia’s youngest audiences experience the finest theatre.

Alongside an annual season of productions Barking Gecko also has an ever-expanding workshop programme where young people explore their creativity through participation in the Gecko Ensembles.

Barking Gecko is an award winning company that has made over 80 new Australian works, toured extensively, regularly appears in premiere arts festivals, and reaches over 30,000 people every year.

The Artistic Director is responsible for developing, communicating and delivering an inspiring artistic vision for Barking Gecko Theatre Company. This includes providing the direction, leadership, policy and presentation of ongoing artistic programmes.
