RED LEAP THEATRE COMPANY IS RECRUITING A GENERAL MANAGER, COULD IT BE YOU?  

Change is afoot at Red Leap Theatre Company and we are looking for a gifted, highly energetic and hands-on General Manager who can multi-task, lead our present and future direction and build on the proud record and credentials we have already established from our offices, rehearsal space and props workshop at Corban Estate Arts Centre in Henderson in Auckland.

We are passionate about creating innovative and unforgettable theatre and have done so at many festivals and venues across New Zealand, Australia and in different parts of Asia.  Our focus is on original devised work under Artistic Director Julie Nolan, and in crossing the forms of physical theatre, imagery and storytelling through playful discovery, the power of the imagination and by building a strong ensemble of committed performers.

So you will need to be comfortable in a collaborative, empathetic leadership environment, adept at strategic implementation and possess the vision, business planning and delivery skills called for in this position.

You will need the right credentials and management experience but above all you will be adept at selling both the company and its products, have a proven entrepreneurial flair and relish challenges.  

Specifically you will be responsible for :

• The financial health of the company
• Sales and Marketing
• Strategic implementation, planning and delivery
• Legislative compliance, risk and health and safety
• Key internal and external relationships.

Reporting to a committed and highly professional Board, you will understand the difference between governance and management, you will know how to walk the fine line between management and creativity and you will have a natural flair and instinct for managing people.  Above all you will relish pressure and be able to demonstrate that you can just roll your sleeves up and get on with things without losing the big picture.
