DUNEDIN THEATRE AWARDS 2019 WINNERS
Dunedin Theatre celebrates 10 years of Awards presentations
The 10th Annual Dunedin Theatre Awards were held on Monday, 2 December 2019, at the beautiful Hanover Hall. The evening was presided over by Barry Dorking, with awards presented by a special guest: Dunedin Theatre Awards founder Patrick Davies.
In addition to the regular categories, special presentations were made for various longstanding achievements in theatre to Chris Manley, John Watson, and Playhouse Theatre. A special award also recognised the work and achievements of the recent UNESCO Cities of Literature Short Play Festival. Lisa Warrington acknowledged the dedication of the Dunedin Theatre Reviewers’ Collective for their decade of service to the Dunedin Theatre community.
As a finale to the anniversary celebrations, a special award recognised the Production of the Decade – Punk Rock, the powerful 2015 production that marked the first formal collaboration between Fortune Theatre and University of Otago Theatre Studies.
