We are in development, approaching preproduction of a unique entertainment event, www.thebigstomp.com. TBS will combine, theater, sports, dance music and arts to take a positive stand against P. However, the balance between being preachy and entertaining is a thin line. The ultimate goal is to educate a consumer to the negative aspects of a consumer product. Our approach is to take the stand that people are intelligent, and value free will. Telling them what they should do is akin to telling everyone that condoms are 100% effective, and natural. So how will we make a difference, how do we bring a message that P can hinder grwoth and have potential deadly results to users and those to manufacturer and sell the product?

We believe offering an exciting, entertaining and enjoyable environment while highlighting the other consumer products available will play a critical role in the process or stemming the tide of P abuse. With that in mind we are seeking talented actors, directors and playwrights who would be interested in having their work seen on stage.  So in connection with the outdoor event we will also produce a staged event that focuses on the drug P. The title of the production is, Mr. P Takes a Holiday. It will encompass five ten minute acts and can be Drama, Comedy, Dramedy, Musical or a combination of each. The main focus is to highlight the adverse effect of the use of P on society.

If you are interested please respond and i’ll send you the details of submission and judging.

Thanks

Do a pro-health event and I’ll be there. The war on drugs promotes more drug use, the War on Terror (itself a terrorist movement) promotes and encourages more terror.

Hi Nick,

I agree with your assessment about the use of the word war, especially when used by US politicos. However, like it or not, we do have house fires and crime, thus the need for firefighters and armed offenders squad. Similar is the need to educate as opposed to hibernate in regard to the use of a drug that destroys users bodies, minds, families, and takes a toll on society.

The trick will be to make the production preach free, have a sense of comedy and be entertaining. Act one is in the bag, dark comedy and musical.

Bruce can you please inform me what is your target audience for this event and where you would be performing. I suggest that you hold a series of events in areas of high P abuse rather than in the blue rinse areas where a gin and tonic is considered mind altering.
