The Q Theatre campaign

..kind of annoys me for some reason. Surely if people are feeling passionate about this cause they don’t need to be prodded along like NCEA students? If I was a decision maker, I would be rather bored after the 10th copy and pasted letter. I would want to see some personal reasons written with some thought and originality with some research or whatever to back them up. In that excessively long document posted in the news section of this site, it reads like “you have to say this and this and this, in this order, and send it to these people, and me too”….might it not come back to bite you in the arse (like pre-election promises) if you can’t deliver? Is there a big enough group of people supporting this? Are you influencing the right people? Have you found someone that is really sympathetic to your cause who has a strong voice and who can influence the decision makers?

I’ve yet to see some real, tangible change come from letter bombing in my experience. Maybe I latched onto the wrong causes when I was into that ‘scene’….

e.v. Your comment about letter bombing and the negative tone of your writing seem to indicate that the “Scene ” you are now in must be devoid of passion and dreams. May I suggest a walk on the beach and a plunge into the sea which may renew  your  flagging spirit.

Neil, I used past tense as I no longer write copious amounts of letters like what is being requested because the good feelings associated weren’t enough when nothing was coming from writing them. So I don’t feel the need to jump in a lake 🙂 I assume there are still people in the groups I used to be involved in..fair play to them if they’re still going at it.

I still stand by my previous post! 🙂
