Brendon and Criss are experts* on dreams: Brendon has read almost the entirety of the prologue to Freud’s Interpretation of Dreams, and Criss has had several dreams.
Now, as the Dream Team, they will use the full power of spontaneously created theatre to investigate, interpret, and — if needed — fix your dreams. This is a show of joyfully improvised chaos, where your dreams can become reality.

Review by Margaret Austin 12th Oct 2023
Brendon Bennetts and Criss Grueber, the Dream Team, are self-professed dream experts. You could say armchair experts actually – one of them is in a wheelchair. His wryly realistic observation on his state draws the first of this evening’s many laughs.
Their task tonight is to interpret some of our dreams and in doing so help us to come to terms with aspects of ourselves. Audience contributions are readily forthcoming throughout.
That your teeth are falling out is apparently a common dream – signals anxiety for us (but good luck for dentists I reckon). Trying to connect a pink skirt to a fan with an enclosed grill proves an added improvisational challenge, and someone’s dream of a tall thin lady trying to get into his bedroom door to no avail provokes some of the loudest laughs.
Best of all, and leading to the longest and most satisfying storyline, is a woman’s dream of two tigers wanting to lie on top of her. The woman’s friend dobs her in by describing her as having trouble with boundaries. Enough said.
Our team of two is now joined by a third member: Emma Brittenden, whose dream house is to be well-insulated, even though on Bali, but after considering the housing situation there is happy enough to be recalled to New Zealand. Really?
The final act consists of a dreamscape that brings together various elements from everything we’ve witnessed. It makes for an appropriately hilarious conclusion. Action is accompanied by musician Matt Hutton.
