BATS Theatre Celebrates 35 Years of Inspiring Performance with Flight of Fancy Fundraiser
BATS Theatre, one of Aoteaora’s most beloved performing arts venues, is turning 35. To celebrate, we are hosting the do-not-miss event of the year featuring iconic artists, awesome auction items, and delicious food and drinks. Flight of Fancy: BATS Turns 35 takes over the entire building on Kent Terrace on November 16 2024.

ARTS ON TOUR NZ Menu 2025
Kia ora friends and supporters. Just a follow up to advise that to date 54 bookings have been received from 22 community agencies from the Far North to Otago. While deadline for bookings is as stated in thread below, some tours are proving popular. An application towards costs from Creative NZ will be announced on 7 August. If successful, our limited budget will allow for AOTNZ to provide and pay for artists’ accommodation as previously. TE AUAHA SEEKS A VENUES PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN
The Venues Production Technician ensures that those who hire or use the venues at Te Kāhui Auaha have the knowledge and equipment they need for their activities to run safely and smoothly from a technical and facilities point of view. The production technician will also be required to design and operate lights and sound for internal productions, and undertake similar duties for external productions and events when required.

SUMMER SHAKESPEARE WELLINGTON AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT For our 2023 production, we will be presenting The Tempest at the Dell in the Botanic Gardens, directed by Megan Evans.
This production will explore the nuanced and complex interrelationships of human and more-than-human residents of this beautiful planet we humans must learn to share less selfishly. Shakespeare’s Tempest has been a star vehicle for the actor playing Prospero. But perhaps the time for ‘star turns’ should have ended long ago. In casting this production, we will work to ensure that everyone feels they have enough.
