A CALLING TO ‘CELEBRATE AND ELEVATE’ NEW ZEALAND THEATRE NZ THEATRE MONTH – September 2018 Watch Video Here Iconic and much-beloved NZ playwright Roger Hall CNZM QSO is proud to confirm NZ THEATRE MONTH for September 2018 and is calling all theatres and creators to get involved. The aim is to showcase NZ Theatre in all its forms. Inclusion in the campaign will be FREE for all presenters, promotors and creators, with the aim to increase public awareness of not only the amount of New Zealand Theatre taking place all around us all the time, but the quality of that theatre. As their slogan says, it’s about ‘celebrating and elevating New Zealand Theatre.’

FIRST CHRISTCHURCH HUI FOR WOMEN IN THEATRE works towards fostering a vibrant arts sector It was while completing research on the representation of females in New Zealand theatre for her Bachelor degree that Dearna Doglione came across some statistics that shocked her. She grew increasingly unhappy with numbers showing that while women formed the majority of the theatre audience, they were significantly under represented backstage, on stage, as playwrights on mainstages, and at executive management level in New Zealand theatres.

BLOOMSDAY 2017 Auckland’s annual Bloomsday show is on again this month, Friday June 16, at the Thirsty Dog in Karangahape Rd, one night only. It starts at 7.30pm and runs for three hours.
