ONE OF THE MOST TALKED ABOUT COMEDIANS IN THE UK IS BACK WITH NEW QUESTIONS
On debut at the 2007 NZ International Comedy Festival Mark Watson became the fastest selling act in the history of The Classic, NZ’s home of live comedy. In fact his two week season was all but sold out before he even arrives. Mark Watson is a man who’s reputation precedes him wherever he goes.
On his 27th birthday, a religious evangelist asked Watson: "Can I briefly talk to you about the point of life?" His excitement at the prospect of finding out something so important with such ease was soon dispelled when the man, rather disappointingly, just said a few things about God that didn’t quite add up. Still, the seed was sown in Watson’s head…
Mark Watson has the ability to take an insignificant event and describe it has having lasting consequences for world peace. Then again, he does confess to writing a suicide note after losing a game of Connect 4 as a child (but the show will also be packed with literally hundreds of jokes as well – just in case you were worried).
"Watson is in the Edinburgh super league."- The Guardian UK
"A comic alchemist turning the banalities of the everyday into glittering laughter" The Independent UK

Instantly engaging; damn funny
Review by Jessie Kollen 30th Apr 2008
When he grew up Mark Watson wanted to be a sports commentator, but luckily for us he became a comedian instead. And not the kind of comedian who picks on his audience either, although he assures us he is a professional: if there’s someone in the crowd who needs to be taken down, he will do the job.
He didn’t need to, because everyone loved him, and trust me, you’ll love Mark Watson too.
From the first surprising moment (I won’t give away the surprise!) the somewhat formal atmosphere of the Crunchie Comedy Chamber is charged with Mark Watson’s energy, a wonderful live wire electricity that instantly engages the crowd.
Can I Briefly Talk To You about The Point Of Life is Mark Watson’s latest offering to the Comedy Festival, his show last year was one of the fastest selling acts, and now I know why…
"This is my job," says Mark Watson, "I go around, talk shit, go home, and eat a pie…" Maybe he talks shit, but it’s damn funny shit. And he doesn’t always eat pies, he likes yoghurt too.
