Can I take you somewhere?
Somnolence: The tantalising seduction of sleep.
You’re on the brink of consciousness… Your eyes flicker open and the world pours in. Your world? Or another? Are you lost? Or are you exactly where you’re supposed to be? 17 characters; 17 worlds; 17 desperate searches for belonging, all come crashing into each other as reality turns to dream, dream turns to nightmare, nightmare turns to a vision of what could have been.
Written and devised by the next generation of Auckland’s hottest actors alongside devilish wunderkind director Benjamin Henson, Somnolence is a stingingly original, surreal, beast of play that refuses to behave. Come experience the premiere of this extraordinary work to celebrate Unitec’s freshest crop of actors bursting into the industry.
