Vaughan King: 0 to 20 in 60 minutes (NZ)
Going full steam for the Billy-T James award 2nd time nominee Vaughan King has put together a show that has taken a life time to make. Stories from when he was a wee boy at school to a teenager in trouble then on to an adult with a need for comedy. Small towns and good kiwi stories from all over New Zealand,
If you are a kiwi or have stayed in this beautiful country there will be something in there for you. Also a few surprises about what we can learn and what we can teach.
After this show you will have more of an understanding of what makes a nice New Zealand boy turn into a kiwi comic.

High-quality provincial Kiwi performance

Review by Lillian Richards 12th May 2010

The show is a virtual tour of the small towns of New Zealand that housed, fought with and abided Vaughan King on his way towards Auckland to try his hand as a stand up comedian.

This is Vaughan King’s life from age 0 to 20 in 60 minutes.

Filled with a variety of props, illustrated jokes and some Adrian Mole aged 13 and ½ type behaviour, King’s performance is high-quality provincial Kiwi and most likely to please the crowd if not truly inspire them to greater amused heights.

It’s an hour’s performance and well worth seeing, not least in order to compare with the other Billy T Award nominees: this year’s pickings will make for some staunch competition.
