Currently a Philosophy PhD student and Lecturer at Victoria University of Wellington, Jorge came two years ago from the Caribbean side of Costa Rica known as Puerto Limón. Throughout his undergraduate studies in Philosophy he was heavily involved in the arts and culture while working for an alternative and independent editorial in San Jose dedicated to publish philosophy, poetry and other literary works. Despite pursuing postgraduate studies in Logic and Cognitive Science, he have always been involved and fascinated by the literature and arts scene of Costa Rica and Latin-America in general.

Apart from the aesthetic components of artistic works, Jorge finds himself thinking through the social and political appeal of creative works and how such elements speak of and to the ongoing state of affairs in the context in which they are produced and presented. Spanish being his native language and Latin-American his birthplace, you may sometimes find an overtly embellished use of language, but bear in mind he comes from the region of the world that gave birth to magical realism and One Hundred Years of Solitude, so please bear with him; a dark sense of humour awaits those who stick with it through his non-British use of language.
