Karen has a Diploma in Drama from The University of Auckland. At an early age she performed as a dancer. She participates in writing workshops for poetry, creative non-fiction and fiction. The upcoming anthology Kaituhi Rawhiti, celebrating writers resident in Gisborne Tairawhiti, includes some of Karen’s creative writing.

Karen is currently writing a short film script alongside haiku with her own photography for her book, Silent Pictures with Words, due to be published in 2021 by Earl of Seacliff Art Workshop publishers.
