Piupiu Maya Turei (Wairarapa Moana) is an artist and curator. Her foundational understanding of art comes from working and learning theatre making practices. She is the current facilitator of Tini Whetu Project Space, an experimental art gallery, is an exhibiting artist as part of the Kia Ora Whaea kaupapa. She has created experimental theatre works within the collective E-Kare and is fascinated by the myriad of ways kaupapa Maori methodologies are expressed through all the various forms of art making.
